During the Hollywood Stars Oscars® Gala™, Dr. Nia hosted the auction. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the the Ronald McDonald House of Charity (RMHC).
The mission of RMHC is to provide a 'home away from home' - accommodation for families so they can stay close to their hospitalized children. RMHC believes that when a child is hospitalized, the love and support of family is as powerful as the best medicine prescribed. By providing a comfortable and caring environment, RMHC hopes it can help to keep family units together during what can be extremely stressful times.
The first Ronald McDonald House opened in Philadelphia in 1974 through the efforts of Fred Hill, a Philadelphia Eagles football player. When his daughter was diagnosed with leukemia, Hill and his wide camped out on hospital chairs and benches, and got by on food from vending machines.
Dr. Nia’s expertise and experience in the entertainment industry dates back to 20 years. Originally, as an entertainment attorney, addressing various production and distribution agreements, as well as considerations of IP protection.
Subsequently, Dr. Nia has continued his work in the entertainment industry, in film finance and distribution, as well as creation and development of shows and events, such as Cyber Challenge (aired on NBC and PBS), as well as film events such as the Olympia Awards (in Development), and previously aired Family Film Awards (aired on CBS and Prime Star).
Dr. Nia is the executive producer and producer of the feature film “Crossroads to Shaolin”, which is going to be directed by Lee Baker, who has over 20 years of experience in the film industry with a focus on the creative aspects of production, screenwriting and directing.
Lee Baker currently is the the CEO of Wardour Studios Hollywood. Lee has worked on many feature film and television projects including Race to Witch Mountain, Pushing Daisies, Grimm, Trauma, The Aquabats, Raising Hope, A Gifted Man, The Closer, iZombie and many others.
Hollywood Stars Oscars® Gala™ 2019 started on the big screen that was center stage in the beautiful Beverly Hilton International Ballroom, as guests were sipping cocktails and getting ready to view the Oscars and dinner.
This year, the Academy relied on performances, skits and presenters to move the program along without an official emcee.
Everyone enjoyed themselves with the delicious sit down dinner and after party featuring Paris Hilton’s swimsuit designer Signal Briquelle of Beverly Hills.
