Thierry Frémaux, president of the festival Pierre Lescure, general delegate will hold the ceremony in Agora, near the festival, together with Chopard Caroline Scheufele, co-president and artistic director.
Zhang Ziyi, the renowned Chinese actress will present the award to both a male and female young actor on the rise this year. The previous presenters are Elton John, Julianne Moore, Charlize Theron, Sean Penn, Robert De Niro, Cate Blanchett, Jude Law, Helen Mirren, and Gwyneth Paltrow. Previous recipients also include John Boyega, Marion Cotillard, Shailene Woodley, Ezra Miller, Logan Lerman, Gael García Bernal, and James McAvoy.
This year’s festival has a slate of highly anticipated films. Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” Jim Jarmusch’s “The Dead Don’t Die,” Terrence Malick’s “A Hidden Life,” Werner Herzog’s “Family Romance, LLC” and Ken Loach’s “Sorry We Missed You” will all premiere at the festival.
